Avery's 1st Birthday

During Easter weekend, I attended my friend, Avery's, 1st birthday. It was held at the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park on a rainy Saturday but everyone still had a great time. She also had a Korean ceremony like mine and dressed in a pretty pink hanbok! All my friends all did not take naps that day before the party so all the mommys were holding their breath that all of us would not be too cranky.

Here I am at the start of the party. I had just started learning to walk a few days before. Now I'm a whiz and can almost run!

During the party, they had Little Maestro's perform some music and do activities with all the children. I had a blast and walked right up to all the performers.

I had to show Daddy to look at the performers and not me. It was tons of fun!!!

On my left is my oldest buddy, Cian. He and I knew each other when we were in our mommy's bellies. He started walking earlier than I did...actually just a few days before my birthday party! Now we can both walk around!

I loved the entertainment and could not get enough. I was so excited, I almost started breaking out the moves.

I started to get a fan base since I was so hip. Here I am on a parachute!

Here are some of my friends, Sonya and Brady. I don't know who the other girl is. She is new. And then there is a close up of Cian and Sonya.

Another shot of the band with all the mommies dancing. And of course a last picture of mom and the birthday girl.

This weekend, I get to go up to Toronto for a wedding of one of daddy's friends. I can't wait to see Grandma and Grandpa Kim and show them my walking abilities!

Love,
Matthew

Han Bok

Here are some snaps that mom took while I was happier wearing my han bok. On my birthday there weren't too many pictures with me smiling since I guess I was overwhelmed. Anyway, I felt much better taking some pictures in my outfit without tons of people watching.

You want me to shake this thing? It looks more like something you eat rather than something that makes music.

You wanna show me? Too bad...I'm just gonna eat it.

Yum, this taste kind of good. I wonder what it's made of...hmmm

Look I'm standing --- no hands mom!

My First Haircut

Shortly after my 1st birthday, my mom took me to Doodle Doos to get my first haircut. She was too scared since I move around a lot while in my high chair. Good thing she got someone else to do it since I needed to be entertained by bubbles, tv and more! Talk about high maintenance.

I got to sit in a cool chair which looked like a car. They put on the show Backyardigans but that did not interest me while the hairdresser sprayed my hair down.

Even bubbles didn't make me happy...boo hoo.

Almost done. I decide when I'm done. I'm getting out of this car!

Please mommy, help me. No more. Yay! I'm done.

I got a cool certificate for my first haircut and got my first locks in a neat little box mommy kept as a keepsake.

Mommy hopes my hair doesn't grow for 18 years. Going for one haircut was stressful enough!
