Do we look alike?

Here are some pictures of Matthew and Lauren around the same time. Do you think they look alike?

Matthew was definitely more chunky than Lauren. And Matthew has Daddy's feet and hands while Lauren has mommy's long fingers and toes!
Hee hee...

See you later!

Just born @ 12:24am 9.22.09!!

Well, I'm finally here! Exactly two weeks early and after three pushes I popped right out at 12:24am! I weighed 6lbs 11oz and was 19 inches long. My brother, Matthew was just 1lb heavier than me and almost 2 inches longer than me -- but hey, I was born two weeks earlier and he had another 2 weeks to bake in mommy's oven. Mommy was a super star and Daddy was great helping out with it all. My Aunt Janet and Uncle Dennis took care of Matthew. So very nice to have them in the city. :)

Here I am at the hospital in my bassinet. Unlike my brother, I got to stay by mommy's beside the whole time. It was nice to have mommy around all the time. Peekaboo!
Just a bit cranky...need more milk!

Stay tuned for some pictures with my big brother, Matthew!

Lauren Isabelle Kim!

So the long awaited day arrived when my little sister, Lauren Isabelle Kim, arrived on September 22, 2009. She was supposed to arrive on October 6, 2009 but decided to be early. On Saturday, September 19, 2009 after a normal day of working, mommy met daddy and I with Grandma Kwon for some good ol' kalbi. After that meal, mommy thinks her water may have broken up high in her placenta as she felt some kind of leaking after that meal all the way up through Monday. On Monday, she decided to call her doctor who said the leaking sounded normal and then my Aunt Janet and some of mommy's other friends. Since mommy's water never broke she didn't know what it felt like. All her friends and Aunt Janet said that it sounded like mommy's water broke. So on Monday night, we decided to go into the hospital and get it checked out. It was decided that mommy's water did in fact break and she had to be induced. Mommy got a dosage of pictocin around 9PM and by 1130PM, the contractions were in full effect. Grandma Kwon and Grandpa Kwon had just left around 11PM since nothing had really happened up to that point. However, around 1130PM, mommy was 8cm dilated. Daddy couldn't stand to see mommy in pain so he suggested the epidural. He went out to request it but Dr. Wirth, mommy's doctor, came in to check on her again and she was 10cm already. There was no time for the epidural anymore. Things started getting a bit crazy after that as mommy then felt the urge to push and after 3 pushes, Lauren came into the world! It was wild according to Daddy. Even Dr. Wirth had to tell mommy to hold on while they prepared the warmer and the table for delivery! I was of course at Aunt Janet and Uncle Dennis's house sleeping over for the night but they told me that the next day. My mom's birthing experience sounds action packed just like when I was born too! Jeez!

Since Lauren is now a voice on this blog, I'll let her take over from here. Here I am with mommy and my big brother at the hospital and here's daddy holding me. I'm just 1 day old so just over 6 pounds heavy! Hello Matthew!

See my tiny feet? Mommy and Daddy think I have very long toes. Hmmm. What's my future going to be like? Figure skater? Ballerina? First line defense woman for the Leafs??!!
I'm just 2 days old now and just finished eating. Daddy and Mommy have already changed my diapers 10x last night and I'm just chilling...very tired eating, you know?

See you around!!

Hawaii Recap

Mommy didn't get a chance to upload all the Hawaii pictures but she found some that she felt she had to put up.

This is what happens when mommy and daddy leave me with Godmother and Godfather...the abuse...*sigh*

I loved the warm waters and swimming! Did I tell you I'm now taking swimming lessons and absolutely love them. Hopefully I'll learn to blow bubbles underwater!

Say cheese!! Mom's shoulder is the greatest Kleenex on this planet. Everyone should have one!

Who could say they've been to Hawaii without trying on a hula skirt and lei?! And no, Daddy did not let Mommy buy this outfit..oh well.
Mahalo!!

Battery Park Playground

This past weekend, my Aunt Michelle was here visiting with Andrew. During one of their free days, we decided to go to the playground at Battery Park.

The sandbox area is my favorite although mommy does not like all the sand that gets in my shoes and clothes. I decided to venture to some new friends and see what they were up to...

Here I am riding the baby slide and then I took Aunt Michelle over to the water area. This day the water was turned off as the weather was a bit cooler. Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for my mom, this meant no getting wet. :(

The swings are one of my favorite things to do at the park. Look closely at the children next to my swing. Mommy might have to swing us like that once my brother/sister is born so that both of us can get on a swing without waiting forever....

I went back to the sandbox to see if they were doing anything interesting. I found my own pink shovel and decided to dig myself instead of waiting for others. That's right, Daddy always taught me to be a go-getter.

Here is a passageway that is a little tricky to get through. Hi Mommy!!

Meet my favorite friend in the park, Albert the dodo bird. He usually has water spurting out but with the weather a bit cooler, all the water was turned off. Boo hoo.
We had such a great time with Aunt Michelle and Andrew. Hopefully they'll be back soon!!

*Hugs*
Matthew

Helping Mommy in the Kitchen

You see what a big boy I've become?
