Labor Day Weekend

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a nice labor weekend. I know it's been a while since I've posted an update but I've been keeping my parents busy as I'm rolling all over the place and require more attention since I'm also starting to sit up and showing beginning signs of crawling! My teeth are also coming in nicely and they are quite sharp as mommy and daddy cringe when I get the chance to chew on their fingers! :)

Here I am after having inched my body backwards across my playmat. Mommy was making dinner and found me in one of the most interesting of places .. under my stroller!

Here I am sitting up! :) I'm not 100% stable but I can sit up for a bit and then I fall over...which is never fun.

During the labor day weekend, my parents took me to Lake Placid. We stayed at High Peaks resort which was one of the more modern hotels up there. Lake Placid was the home of the 1932 and 1980 Olympics! :o Here is a picture of our view from the hotel balcony. Daddy then decided to take a picture of me being Hercules...

I was so astounded by the beauty and peacefulness of the lake...and then there was the sun but I forgot to bring my glasses so I borrowed mommy's for a bit.

Here we are chilling on a bench in the town of Lake Placid. Do you like my hat? -- hee hee. I'm so cute.

Of course, we had to get a picture with daddy doing his favorite things -- drinking and playing with fire. You can tell by the second picture that I'm learning the drinking thing quickly.

While mommy and daddy got a break, I had a chat with Big Bird and Grover -- they had interesting things to say and boy did I learn a lot about what goes on in Sesame Street. Here I am climbing trees .. mommy tried to get me down but I didn't listen -- haha.

On Sunday, we climbed Whiteface Mountain! :) It was 58 degrees up there and mommy forgot my socks! But don't worry Grandma Kim and Grandma Kwon, you'll see that mommy was quite creative in making sure my toes didn't freeze.

These are some pictures of us as we drove up the mountain. You can see Lake Placid in the backdrop -- mommy thinks the lake looks like lungs.

Here we go climbing up to the summit. There were no stairs, just rocks that we had to climb. And daddy got a workout carrying my little 20lb bum.

Wowsers...look how high we are! Here I am enjoying my free ride and the fresh mountain air!

We made it!

Greetings and love from the Kimbos!!

And of course, I had to include a prelude to the next holiday --- my first Halloween!!!! Look at my cute pumpkin hat from Aunt Christine!

My New Throne

Yay! I finally got my highchair so I can sit with mommy and daddy and eat with them. Here I am with my mashed apples and rice cereal.

And of course a few closeups in my Osh Kosh B'gosh overalls. My parents bought these overalls when I was still in mommy's belly and I finally fit into them!

This angle makes my feet look huge!

Here are my bottom two teeth coming in -- look closely!

Okay, time to take a nap.

My First Hiking Trip!

I am now almost 20lbs and going on 5 months old now! I also roll over all over the place so my parents have to watch me all the time. I can reach out and grasp for things but am still practicing my coordination in grabbing things directly. I'm developing more of a personality but still a happy go lucky little boy. My two bottom teeth continue to progress but have yet to show their full glory.

Here I am sleeping. I am always ending up in weird positions throughout my slumber -- from my tummy, to my back, to my side to being buried in any corner of my crib...

This past weekend, I went on my first hiking trip with my grandparents. We climbed a mountain top to a lake and picked blueberries and huckleberries! Here we are eating some food before the trek up. Grandpa Kwon teases me with a hard boiled egg -- I almost had the egg too...

Here I am with Grandpa Kwon and also with Grandma Kwon!

Here's Grandma Kwon picking huckleberries...you see them???

Daddy carried me the whole way up and down -- for about 5 hours straight! Now he knows what mommy felt like carrying me for 9 months!

This is a close up of the huckleberries. They are round and black. While we were about 0.5 miles up, a HUGE thunderstorm hit and we got poured on. Good thing daddy had a $1 poncho from Peru he bought. It came in really handy!!

Here we are at the historical center back at the base of the mountain. We took a break until the rain stopped and then we headed back up. We met a baby bear along the way and I was brave...

Look at this blueberry tree! Do you see how many blueberries there??? They are different from huckleberries.

A close up of the blueberry tree. They are lighter in color than the huckleberry. Here's a picture of Daddy and I up by the lake near the top of the mountain. It was really serene and we got to clean our lungs of all the city air..

Hope you all had a nice weekend!
