Long Beach, Long Island

On Sunday, we went to Long Beach with my parents good friends, Samir and Sheliza, along with my favorite playmate, Jacob. It was about 1 1/2 hour drive and the weather was just gorgeous. It was not too hot and there was a nice breeze. The beach had nice and soft sand but the water was very very cold.

Mommy made sure I had a lot of sunscreen on but she forgot to put some on herself so she got burned on her nose and her arms. Ooops. Sheliza is expecting another baby at the end of July and you can now also see mommy's bigger belly. My sister or brother is in there.

Jacob had so much energy he ran around the whole beach and made sure his dad got some good exercise! I tried to keep up but the cold water scared me. Hopefully when I go to Hawaii next week the water will be warmer and I won't be as scared.

I loved the sand though! Yippee for the warm sun...!

Jacob and I shared some snacks and had a bit to drink during our break in our beach chair.

Mom and I also took a short walk on the beach since I wanted to show her all the cool shells I found in the sand.

Here is Jacob and his dad building some things in the sand. Now, where was my shovel.....

On Friday, we leave for California to see Godfather! We'll be in San Diego for the weekend and then off to Hawaii with both godmother and godfather on Wednesday. We will also meet up with my cousin Leah since they'll be there too for a few days! It'll be nice to have some family time since everyone has been working so much.

Oh yeah, and today is mommy and daddy's anniversary. Happy 2nd anniversary!! You guys survived -- hee hee.

Love,
Matthew

Saturday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

This past Saturday, Daddy and I met up with Uncle Samir and Jacob to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Boy was it cool! Jacob and I tore up the Egyptian exhibit as if we owned the place. There were a lot of places to explore, climb and run around but Daddy wouldn't let us go into the actual exhibit areas. Oh well.

I told Jacob that usually there are tombs filled with treasures in these Egyptian exhibits. He didn't believe me but I was sure there was something to be discovered.

We had to hurry before the other children found the treasure first. I led the way and Jacob was more cautious about my expedition.
After the museum, we went to Central Park to have a go on the swings. Both dads tried to time the pushing of our swings so that we'd be swinging together but both are not physicists and understand the concept of how much we weigh, the distribution of the weight and how fast we needed to be pushed so that at one point we'd be swinging at the same time.
Oh well. We had fun being guinea pigs for their experimentation.
We then went to play in the sand and sprinklers. Jacob was scared of the sprinklers but still watched the water from inside the sandbox. I, on the other hand, love water so I was over by the sprinklers.
Then I came back into the sand area to check things out. I had to roll up my sleeves and really get dirty.
After the park, we went to the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle. There we watched some tv at the Samsung store. At first, I wasn't sure about the whole thing, but then....

Saturdays are always so adventurous and fun. Our dads are great. On Sunday we went to Long Beach, Long Island for my first beach experience. We'll be posting some pictures shortly.
Have a happy Monday!

Playdate with Jacob

So on Saturdays since mommy goes to work, I always have fun adventures with daddy now. Last Saturday, we decided to meet up with my friend Jacob and his dad at Central Park and then to the Natural History Museum. It was a nice hot day so I played in the sprinklers in the park. Daddy didn't know we were going to get wet so I just got a bit wet in my onesie. Oh well. Jacob is a little over 1 year older than me but he's really cool. We did everything together. We drank our water together....

We rode a carousel together! Jacob was so brave but I didn't really like it as it scared me... Jacob was brave enough to take pictures with his eyes open with his daddy!

I closed my eyes and asked daddy to tell me when the ride was over. We got to see a turtle in the pond too! The pond was really dirty though. yuck.

Here we are at the Natural History Museum. Jacob is more interested than I was. I decided to have a man to man chat with him about how to go about this place -- so much to see and do, I didn't know where to start!?

Jacob told me not to worry and that if I stuck with him, I'd get the hang of things....and I did. :)

We had a great time hanging out with each other ... and at the end of the day, we both took a nap. *sigh*

It was a good day. :)

Now, what are you still looking at? Get outta here. haha.

Leah's 1st Birthday Party

Leah came to visit us in New York after last seeing her during Christmas! It was a long 5 months to wait for her to come back but boy was she talkative and I sure did miss her. Her and I had long conversations and we got to spend a lot of time together in New York as my aunt and uncle both stayed with us at our new apartment. Leah celebrated her 1st birthday at her Uncle Tim and Aunt Eunice's lounge. The place was really nice, new and modern with an outside area to run around!

Here is Leah and my pretty Aunt. Doesn't she look great in her han bok?

My cousin Leah is such a ham and she was in such great spirits during her 1st birthday unlike me. Oh well! The Kwon family!

Grandma Kwon made me wear my hanbok again and pose with Leah but it was really hard since I wanted to walk and explore and Leah kept eating all the decorations. Don't think Leah was the only one eating -- I myself fell into her birthday cake, not once, but 3 times and had to eventually take off my button down preppy shirt. *sigh*

Here we are playing the traditional Korean game at 1st birthday parties to determine your destiny. Leah decided she was going to be a singing doctor .....

...who plays golf. Too bad we didn't have a small pair of ice skates as I'm sure she is going to be the next Olympic figure skater. I got to have another chance at choosing my destiny and of course I picked the book...again!? But after, I picked money and Grandma Kwon was so excited!!

Leah had a surprise guest at her party and although I don't like Elmo on tv, for some reason, we have a love relationship when it comes to meeting the big furry Elmo in person! Elmo, I love you...

Elmo you wanna see my dance I practiced for you? Elmo, don't leave!!!

The Kwon family with Elmo (aka Leah's uncle Sammy)

Haha, I almost ran away to get a balloon ... and I got one! Nani nani poo poo!

Leah had a really good time and so did I. The Kwon family is happily going to move back to NY -- finally -- so hopefully I'll get to spend more time with my aunt, uncle and most of all my cousin, Leah.

We are both so cute. I can't say enough ...

Stay tuned!
