Update!

Hello Friends!

The Kimbo family has been quite busy adjusting to not only 3 but now 4 members. So far, survival and one day at a time is the motto in our house. We may not know what is going on tomorrow, next week or in a year, but today is key and of the essence.

A week ago, the grandparents from Canada came to help out and boy were they excellent. They cooked all the meals and picked me up from school everyday. They also helped out with my sister who loved being held by Grandpa. Here are some pictures of Lauren after eating that Mom took while the grandparents took me to school.

Hello Mommy!
What? Is my belly button showing? -- hahahhaa..
I must keep my balance .. concentrate! Oops, lost my balance.
Hee hee...that was fun! Again!!
I took class pictures a few weeks back. Mom was surprised that I modeled and smiled for the camera. Here I am sporting the foliage look. My shirt was supposed to be tucked in but in the morning because we had snack time my teacher put my shirt on. Therefore, my shirt is untucked. Boo.
In this picture, I cried a bit. Oh sadness. The next picture is of my class. There are a few of my friends missing but my teachers are all there. I can identify all my friends and teachers.
And of course, my second Halloween came and went. This Halloween, I had a fever and therefore missed most of the festivities. Instead, mom decided to take pictures of my sister and I since we can't let the costumes go to waste!

Lauren is not too happy of a pumpkin but I was a cooperative little skeleton.
I tried to console Lauren by putting my arm around her but alas, like any woman, she turned away. Psh.
Lauren, I'm telling you, pictures are fun .. trust me .. just smile.... Oh well.
If you aren't going to smile then I'm also going to cry with you! We are BOTH done!!
Lauren I think likes to take photos by herself .. she does not like sharing the spotlight. She is much happier and calmer without me. Ha, just wait until she needs me to protect her later in life. She'll be sorry...
Pumpkin chilling and the next picture shows how much Matthew loves me...
Lauren also went for a playdate to finally meet Salina, Jacob's sister. Salina is 13 weeks here and Lauren is 6 weeks. We will be the best of girlfriends -- we just know it.
Hope everyone had a good week!

Swimming, shoes and Lauren!

So lately, Matthew has been taking swim classes through Physique Swimming and he made mommy and daddy really proud with his diving skills he's recently learned! He has no fear of the water for sure and just dives right in. He even swims by kicking his legs but of course still assisted by daddy.

Here's Matthew standing on a platform in the water ready to swim to daddy. And next is Matthew diving right into the water and swimming towards the instructor.
Matthew's latest obsession is wearing shoes -- but only on his right foot. For the picture, daddy put on the left shoe as well. He's also really into phones and is getting pretty good and figuring out the iPhone.

And here are some pictures of Lauren! She's been eating up a storm and is a pretty good sleeper other than the random crazy nights she wants to stay up all night and eat!?
Look how cute her fingers are! She has mommy's long fingers and toes...:)
See you all later!

Matthew and Lauren

Mommy and Daddy finally got some time last night to take pictures of the both of us together. According to my parents, I've been a good older brother and love my new sister. I give her lots of kisses and love to hold her hand and feel her soft hair. :) I can't call her by her name just yet but I do call her baby.

Here we are together. Lauren doesn't have neck control just yet so I propped her up as much as possible.

Her hands are so small!! Okay, I'm all done!
Mommy had some free time after feeding so she decided to mess around with Lauren. A hat show was what she wanted, but Lauren didn't want to participate. Humph.
So instead, mommy decided to take some bad angle shots of Lauren. Daddy thinks that she looks scary. Do you recognize her outfit? It's one of Leah's outfits that Aunt Janet gave us. Mommy was so excited to have some pink clothing that she went a bit wild...
Lauren is 6 days old today. She's eating well and not sleeping at all at night. Her active hours are basically 1030PM - 3AM. So in honor, mommy has gotten out her clubbing clothes to participate in Lauren's new festivities.

-Kisses from Matthew and Lauren

Do we look alike?

Here are some pictures of Matthew and Lauren around the same time. Do you think they look alike?

Matthew was definitely more chunky than Lauren. And Matthew has Daddy's feet and hands while Lauren has mommy's long fingers and toes!
Hee hee...

See you later!

Just born @ 12:24am 9.22.09!!

Well, I'm finally here! Exactly two weeks early and after three pushes I popped right out at 12:24am! I weighed 6lbs 11oz and was 19 inches long. My brother, Matthew was just 1lb heavier than me and almost 2 inches longer than me -- but hey, I was born two weeks earlier and he had another 2 weeks to bake in mommy's oven. Mommy was a super star and Daddy was great helping out with it all. My Aunt Janet and Uncle Dennis took care of Matthew. So very nice to have them in the city. :)

Here I am at the hospital in my bassinet. Unlike my brother, I got to stay by mommy's beside the whole time. It was nice to have mommy around all the time. Peekaboo!
Just a bit cranky...need more milk!

Stay tuned for some pictures with my big brother, Matthew!

Lauren Isabelle Kim!

So the long awaited day arrived when my little sister, Lauren Isabelle Kim, arrived on September 22, 2009. She was supposed to arrive on October 6, 2009 but decided to be early. On Saturday, September 19, 2009 after a normal day of working, mommy met daddy and I with Grandma Kwon for some good ol' kalbi. After that meal, mommy thinks her water may have broken up high in her placenta as she felt some kind of leaking after that meal all the way up through Monday. On Monday, she decided to call her doctor who said the leaking sounded normal and then my Aunt Janet and some of mommy's other friends. Since mommy's water never broke she didn't know what it felt like. All her friends and Aunt Janet said that it sounded like mommy's water broke. So on Monday night, we decided to go into the hospital and get it checked out. It was decided that mommy's water did in fact break and she had to be induced. Mommy got a dosage of pictocin around 9PM and by 1130PM, the contractions were in full effect. Grandma Kwon and Grandpa Kwon had just left around 11PM since nothing had really happened up to that point. However, around 1130PM, mommy was 8cm dilated. Daddy couldn't stand to see mommy in pain so he suggested the epidural. He went out to request it but Dr. Wirth, mommy's doctor, came in to check on her again and she was 10cm already. There was no time for the epidural anymore. Things started getting a bit crazy after that as mommy then felt the urge to push and after 3 pushes, Lauren came into the world! It was wild according to Daddy. Even Dr. Wirth had to tell mommy to hold on while they prepared the warmer and the table for delivery! I was of course at Aunt Janet and Uncle Dennis's house sleeping over for the night but they told me that the next day. My mom's birthing experience sounds action packed just like when I was born too! Jeez!

Since Lauren is now a voice on this blog, I'll let her take over from here. Here I am with mommy and my big brother at the hospital and here's daddy holding me. I'm just 1 day old so just over 6 pounds heavy! Hello Matthew!

See my tiny feet? Mommy and Daddy think I have very long toes. Hmmm. What's my future going to be like? Figure skater? Ballerina? First line defense woman for the Leafs??!!
I'm just 2 days old now and just finished eating. Daddy and Mommy have already changed my diapers 10x last night and I'm just chilling...very tired eating, you know?

See you around!!
